When Did We Stop Asking Why?
As parents, there is nothing more rewarding than watching our children explore the world with a sense of wonder and curiosity. They constantly ask why and how through big wide eyes. But when did this become socially unacceptable? As a child, people found my inquisitive nature cute. Now, however, my questions are far from cute and frequently seen as a nuisance or incompetence.
It’s a shame because inquisitive minds keep the world interesting.
Don’t be afraid to ask questions – even if it means admitting you don’t have all the answers. It’s time to embrace our inner child and rekindle the sense of wonder and curiosity that drives us to learn more.
5 ways parents can encourage their children to keep their child-like wonder.
1. Encourage Exploration
Take time to explore nature together. Take regular trips to the park or beach, go on hikes, and go camping. By being in nature, children can experience a sense of awe and wonder.
2. Encourage Reading
Read books that help children explore their imaginations. Fairytales, myths, and stories that contain fantastical creatures can help children to explore the world of make-believe.

4. Encourage their Minds
Let children ask questions and take the time to answer them. Encourage them to think critically and explore their own ideas.
5. Encourage their interests and passions
Spend time talking with children about their interests and passions. Ask them what they find interesting and encouraging them to talk about it.
We can make a positive impact on the world, One child at a time, by encouraging and inspiring the minds of the creative innovators of our future.
